Have you ever looked around at a restaurant that screens the local sporting events? If so, then I am sure that you have noticed the different types of fans that came to watch the hodgepodge of contests. Whether it is football, basketball, baseball, or soccer, you will typically encounter four types of sports fans; the diehard, the homer, the casual, and of course the overly annoying bandwagon. No matter the environment, these four factions could never get along. The arguments could last a lifetime.
The dispute has been going on since sports were first designed. Fans constantly bickering about their favorite teams, and why they have chosen that individual team to cheer for, is it because they are performing with marvelous skill at that moment in time, or because everyone else around them is rooting for that team? Maybe they are praising the lineup because it is all they have ever known, and could not imagine applauding anyone else. It could be because the fan believes that their team is the best there is, and the best there ever will be without a shadow of a doubt. All of these questions lead to the different genres of a sports fan.
The bandwagon is without a doubt the most loathed fan of all. When the going gets tough, they get going. Bandwagons are not one to stand by their team during a losing season, and they will never admit that they once cheered for the lineup with the losing record.
