jHave you read poems that have some differences and similarities? I am comparing the poems “Invictus” and “Still I Rise”. I am also comparing the writers Maya Angelou and William Ernest Henley. There are a lot of differences and similarities between the two poems and the two writers.
The differences between the two writers of the poems are that Maya Angelou wrote the poem “Still I Rise” and William Ernest Henley wrote the poem “Invictus”. William E. Henley had tuberculosis when he was a little boy and Maya Angelou didn’t have cancer. Maya recorded her first album named Calypso Lady and William didn’t record an album. William is a male and Maya is a female. Those are the differences between William Ernest Henley and Maya Angelou. The similarities between the two writers of the poems are that both of the writers went though some difficulties when both of the poets were younger. Another similarity between these two people is that they write poetry about their life and what they have been through. They are also both confident and optimistic. The two poets are also known throughout the world. Those are the similarities between the two writers. The differences between the poems “Invictus” and “Still I Rise” are that “Invictus is from a male perspective and “Still I Rise is from a female prospective.
