The place of origin of human beings is an incredibly important topic. Not only would knowing where humans came from cure our curiosity, but it would also help us understand more about why we are like we are today. Many people just say that they are human, that’s all that matters, and they do not really care how homo sapiens came about. On the other hand, a lot of people are interested in knowing where the first of their kind originated from and how they evolved into the people that walk the earth today. The way nature works is often taken for granted and not appreciated as it should be. How we went from hominids (primates walking on two legs), millions of years ago, to the intelligent, skillful human beings we are today shows the incredible ways in which mother nature works. The most current data we have today shows us that the origin of all homo sapiens is in East Africa.
The earliest human remains date back to approximately 195,000 years ago. This fossil was found in the Omo 1 site in Ethiopia. The human remnants began to show a more round skull and protruding chin. Not only was this fossil found in East Africa, but the three oldest homo sapien remains were all found in the region of East Africa. The second earliest remains, dating back to about 160,000 years ago, were found in the Herto site in the Middle Awash area, also in Ethiopia.
