Play review- Greater Tuna
The title of the play is Greater Tuna written by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears and Ed Howard. I saw it performed on Sunday September 4, 2011 at the Lake Worth Playhouse. Stoan Maslev and Todd Caster stared in this play. It was special because one of the actors goes to Dreyfoos. Greater Tuna is about a the small town of Tuna, Texas and it’s 20 or so citizens. In this humorous look at small town life, Stoan Maslev and Todd Caster play all 20 characters, including both men and women. The play comments loudly on political, social, and religious themes as well. In this play I liked the acting and though there were some points that I did not believe what they where saying I still could understand the story and picture what it was like back in that time period. I did find, in this play, that the cast of two had an unbelievable bond with each other which made the story that much more entertaining. The acting was amazing the two players except for the 1st act. I could see that some people did not understand their characters in act I but it was defiantly exciting! I know that the most outstanding actor in the small cast Stoan Maslev because of his wide range of characters that he had to portray. The blocking for all of the scenes set the mood.
