Thoroughly Educated
Does the term “well-educated” refer to the quality of the schooling you receive? Many factors argue the question. Familiarity with a list of words, names, books, and ideas demonstrates a uniquely poor way to judge who is well educated. Merely sitting in classrooms for x amount of hours does not make one well educated. Furthermore, students poorly educated despite acquiring a proper education. Proper education illustrates the student thoroughly comprehending information. The ability to understand information allows students to become thoroughly educated, which enhances their chances for success in the future. However, putting hours and hours in a classroom proves pointless if the student chooses not to pay attention and not seek knowledge. Students practicing self-discipline plays a demanding role in acquiring thorough education. By having self-discipline, students force themselves to pay attention in class and make learning interesting and fun. Classrooms can be boring at times, but practicing self-discipline creates positive opportunities in a learning environment. Self-discipline in the classroom is a major characteristic of a well educated person. Moreover, memorizing words, books, and ideas poorly judges thorough education.
