War is carried on by force of arms, as between nations or between parties within a nation; warfare, as by land, sea, or air. The cause of the war with Iraq started recently with 9/11. September 11, 2001 is the day that Al Qaeda terrorist took over American flights and crashed the planes into the two of the World Trade Center Towers, the Pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania meant for the White House. The causes of the Civil war are the differences between the North and South, economic and social differences. The south had an increase in the number of cotton plantations meant the greater need for a large amount of cheap labor. They depended on cotton and therefore on slavery. On the other hand, the northern economy was based more on industry than agriculture. The South was based on the plantation systems while the North was focused on industry. This change in the North meant that society was a mix of religions and different races that had to work together, but in the south they had a antiquated social order. States versus federal rights was another reason this war was inevitable. There was two different parties that wanted how the power should be distributed in the US: those arguing for greater states rights and those arguing that the federal government needed to have more control. ...
