The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and The Rockefeller Foundation are Non-Profit Organizations that concentrate on making an impact on the global community through various projects, programs, and collaborations with other organizations. While having similar goals and results these Foundations do have different passions and visions. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation concentrate mainly on their passion regarding poor healthcare worldwide, extreme poverty and the decline of the American Education System. Many of the projects they fund are in undeveloped or 3rd world countries. There are four values that define their mission: optimism, collaboration, rigor and innovation. Their mission is to take on tough problems and using technology and innovative thinking to help people live up to their full potential and live productive lives. Most of the awards are granted to U.S. 501(c) (3) organizations. The Rockefeller Foundation, while similar in goals, has a much wider range of initiatives. This Foundation more recently has narrowed its focus down to four main themes. These areas of focus are decreasing world hunger, arts and culture, healthcare and providing stability to low income and working class communities. The mission of this Foundation is to create a world in which all people are able to benefit from globalization so that challenges such as social, environmental or health problems are more easily endured.
