The book I chose to read was called Portrait of A Killer: Jack the Ripper by Patricia Cornwell, it is among one of her many best sellers. This book describes the Jack the Ripper case and accuses Walter Sickert to be the alleged killer. Jack the Ripper is a very famous criminal case, where one unidentified man in the Whitechapel district of London in 1888, was involved in killing women prostitutes and slitting their throats. He then performed abdominal mutilations and removed the organs of at least three of his victims. The Ripper killer or killers supposedly wrote letters to the towns committee describing the awful things he/she did and even sometimes surprising the receivers of the letter with organs inside of the envelope. In this book, Cornwell tries to solve the case and backs up each of her statements with evidence she and her team has collected. She believes that Sickert was the serial killer because his mitochondrial DNA was found on the letters sent to the committee, his strange paintings of women look like the ones that Ripper killed and the positioning were the same, and also some strange abnormalities he had when he was in his younger years....
