Acts of Terrorism have brought pain, sorrow, fear, death, and insecurity to our nation. On September 11th, 2001 thousands of people who were within the twin towers, the pentagon, and all of the passengers on numerous planes were killed by Osama bin Laden. A reoccurrence of this can be prevented by: raising the level of security, enforcing the United States Patriot Act, and by building stronger partnerships. In order to secure or nation from terrorist’s attacks the government has to raise the security almost everywhere. The airports will have to adjust the physical security by adding extra personnel to their staff and taking to the next step of security awareness. The formation of hacker teams will also be another asset to the prevention of terrorist’s attacks. These teams will work to find holes in our security a system and fix them. The United States airports could also ban curbside check-in of luggage and severely restrict areas beyond the security check-in to ticketed passengers only.
The Patriot Act also known as the Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001 was enacted six weeks after 9/11. The Patriot Act expanded the government's ability to conduct surveillance of foreign powers and agents of foreign powers in the United States.
