    A Few Good Men is a courtroom drama about two marines that are charged with murder of fellow marine and their lawyers’ task of clearing their names and finding out the truth of the incident. A Few Good Men has many examples of power currencies. Lt. Daniel Kaffee who is played by Tom Cruise first shows an example of his power currency when he is practicing softball and making his first plea bargain deal with another JAG lawyer. In the scene Lt. Kaffee begins arguing about the McDermott case in which a Navy member had been caught with a substance that was supposed to be illegal narcotics but had turned out to be oregano. In the scene Lt. Kaffee begins to argue with another lawyer trying to reduce the sentence of his client by explaining various legal proceedings he would use to win the case and how he would use various legal strategies to tie up the other lawyers’ time as well. This scene is important because it sets off the tone that Lt. Kaffee is a competent and charismatic lawyer, but it also shows that Lt. Kaffee has a history of taking plea bargains that actually arguing in a court room. This scene also begins to show Lt. Kaffee’s successful interpersonal linkages as a mediator between his clients and the courts.
